Default Naples Florida?

Anyone here live there or have any info for my family and I. Trying to make some future plans to move there or somewhere around there. But we really like how it looks online. Trying to plan a trip there next year for my wife and I to look over the area or other places. Whether it be renting a apartment, house or maybe buying one which would be down the line since we would have to secure good stable jobs. She is going to school for nursing and I work maintenance at the same hospital. We love NC and are located a mile from the beach here but in this part of the state not much room for advancement and Raleigh area is to cold. Thanks!

have been in Florida for over 30 years and love it. Looking for property is a big task, be sure to do your homework as they are a few who will stir you wrong. Many areas are experieincing sink holes, flooding and heavy bug infestation. Shop around, there are amny hospitals here, retirement state, so decent jobs should be available just remember that this is a place many want to live and the labor pool is bid meaning that you may not be able to get the salary you are looking for. Good luck and feel free to ask questions and if we can assist you we will do it.

Yeah ,we read some blog stuff about people saying Florida is a horrible place, nothing to do. Either they lived there whole life there, they aren't beach or outside people or they want a party town to live in. We grew up in Ohio and hated it,cloudy, rainy, cold, freezing, summers are short nothing to really do. Others love it. Better pay in Ohio.Pay is lower here. NC is cool and lots to do and warm..But cooler in the winters then we like. Florida has a lot to do and can grow a lot of are own food there.

From what you say the pay isn't that great?

I have friends and family in Naples, Florida... it's a nice quiet town. Awesome sunsets at the beach... It's a couple hours drive from Miami across alligator alley...
As far as crime goes, I haven't heard of anything out of the ordinary in that zone... it seemed very quiet to me when I would visit. Most people take the 2 hour drive to Miami or Tampa if they want excitement.

Naples itself is a relatively safe area. I live just to the north in Fort Myers. My wife and I go to Naples quite frequently. I think taking a trip down here and eventually renting is a great way to get familiar with the area. I will say that it can get expensive in terms of real estate down there though.

Yes,renting seems expensive. But it's not that cheap here either whether it be a apartment or house. The government is not making it easy to survive now days.

Try renting in San Diego.

If you don't have to be in Naples, I would check some of the communities to the north such as Bonita Springs, Estero, and Fort Myers. There are also many nice areas in unicorporated Lee County. House prices are generally much better. I would avoid Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres if given a choice. They aren't awful but their layout drives me crazy (civil engineer).

unless you are dead set on Naples it may be to your advantage to look in other areas. the farther south and the nearer to water or coast the properties get more costly. we are in just about the center of the state, Dunnellon, and have found the area very pleasing for our tastes. with 5 bananas fruiting and too many other plants around the property it can be a task to keep up with their maintenance. shop for jobs and then search for the property would be our best suggestion. no matter where you land if it is in zone 9 you will enjoy many short sleeve days. good luck and take as much timew as you can afford.
