Pinwheel My Trip to the Toronto Metro Zoo!!!

My mom and I went to the Toronto Metro Zoo yesterday and I was able to take advantage of using my brand new dslr camera and also my new digital camera with a 15x zoom. The pics I'll be showing are a mix of shots I took with both cameras

There are too many shots for me to load all at once so I will release a few at a time. This shot was taken with my dslr camera using a 70-300 mm lens. I'd have to say it's one of the best shots I got, picturing an Orangutan...

Here's a Canadian Grizzly Bear...

This is a beautiful Giraffe chewing on grass...

The last shot shows...

More zoo peeks and details soon...

Hiya Re: My Trip to the Toronto Metro Zoo!!!

You're welcome, Kevin! I'm so pleased with how they turned out.

Yup, I got a couple tiger shots but they weren't as good as I thought. I figured you'd like the tigers Kevin, because it's also your Chinese sign. I'm a tiger too. I enjoy all the cats at the zoo. I got some pretty good lioness shots and a couple ok ones of the lazy lion who wouldn't move to a better position for me to shoot him.

Male Cougar...

The zoo keeper told us they don't go into the cougar area because of the potential for danger, so they feed them through a door but they never go inside with them. What a truly gorgeous animal...

Here are the...

Tiger...

Shot through glass...

Zebra...

We were told that zebras like to stand close together to trick their predators from a distance into believing the mass is one big giant zebra, thus intimidating them from attacking...

Rhino...

Hippo...

Here are two from the back under water...

Orangutan...

Another animal the zoo keepers do not come into physical contact with, due to the extreme danger, is the Canadian Grizzly Bear...

More soon...

Isn't that poaching? sorry I couldn't help it.

Nice pictures

Looks like it was fun, I wish the zoo I went to would have tigers and more big cats. They only had a snow leopard, a few lions, and a Cougar I think. I couldn't get a picture of them though as they where hiding.

Joy Re: My Trip to the Toronto Metro Zoo!!!

So who do you think these big feet belong to?

This Polar Bear of course...

He was pretty hot and tired...

While he was lounging in the shade, she of course was getting her daily exercise, doing her laps in the pool, trying to keep her girlish figure for him! Here she is...

She knew just how to stay cool in the heat...

She kept flipping over and floating on her back...

She seemed to be enjoying herself so much...

Of course he still couldn't be bothered to move and was just content to watch her from his place of rest...

Aren't they too cool?!

Lots more soon...

More Grizzly Bear shots...

He was trying his best to break the branch off this tree trunk and he kept jumping on it trying to snap it...

Thumbs up Re: My Trip to the Toronto Metro Zoo!!!

Even funnier...

Here's where he sticks his tongue out at me!

Such a cute animal...

This little guy was pretty cool...

Here's Mr. Grizzly Bear still trying to break that branch...

I wasn't gonna show these shots of the male Polar Bear because they were taken through fingerprint smudged glass...

Zoo bunny rabbit...

Just a teaser for now, but here's a Lioness...

Omg isn't she just stunningly gorgeous?!

Lots more soon...

At first the Hippos were crowding around this gate to go back with the others, as only a few animals are displayed each day. Then it was like this guy said "Screw this, I'm going back to the pool"!!! He sauntered right back to the water and got in.

We're going back to the zoo a 2nd time and I plan on taking even better shots...more close-ups. Any requests?

I think you covered the whole zoo. I like the eagles, zebras, is there any black panthers or white tigers ? That would be cool.

Wink Re: My Trip to the Toronto Metro Zoo!!!

We covered most of it but not all of it. I missed the Gorillas and the snow owl. Saw the Cheetah but the shots I got are lame. I think there is a black panther but not sure about the white tigers...there is a snow leopard that we missed the 1st time though. I also wanna get better shots of the tiger.

I could go to African Lion Safari as well, but they have a lot of the same animals the zoo has. We'll see...
