Default Local Kicks on Route 66

The beginning of Historic Route 66 is Ogden Ave., in Chicago.

One remarkable characteristic of Ogden Ave. is that the approximately 1.75 mile section between Austin Blvd. and Harlem Ave., in the Towns of Cicero and Berwyn, has 31 businesses related to automobiles. Maybe, this constitutes some sort of World record. Here are photographs of these businesses:

Another remarkable thing about this section is that, once a year, it is the location of the Route 66 Car Show which is the biggest congregation of greater than 95% white people that I have ever seen. This is remarkable because the adjacent neighborhood is about 90% Hispanic. You would think that more of these neighbors would walk half a block to take a look, but, apparently not. Go figure.

Here are some photos:

Great post...
Locally we have US 27 north to south.....to the Keys.
Not to mention A1A...another haunt along the east coast.

All the good stuff is torn down...as well as all the mom and pop motels.

In the first photo, there is a button that is supposed to play the song, Get Your Kicks on Route 66. The button doesn't work, but, this is the song,

For me, "Route 66," evokes memories of the TV show,

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Route_66_(TV_series),

and, especially, the theme music,

.

This is good idea,

,

but, there are too many frames in Chicago and no frames in Cicero and Berwyn.
