Just for your info

I just want to let everyone know that I finally found a way to make my speech recognition program work with the text box on banana.org!
Terribly sorry for the confusing text that I have generated in the past so hopefully in the future you'll be able to understand me better thank you for your patience and support! Pauly

Wow, that's great Pauly. I didn't realize it was a problem you had until someone was kind enough to give me a head's up since I had commented that I thought you were playing around with me/us. I'm sorry about that and hope this works out well for you!

One more thing that might help in cases where this program might not function properly - I've been using Firefox 3.0 as my browser for a couple of months and really like it. It does underline words it does not recognize as it has a built-in spell check program. That wouldn't take care of everything, but it might help some.

Best wishes,

Harvey

Interesting!
What software are you using for that? Dragon Naturally Speaking, or something else?

I don't recall hearing you say what your issue with spelling was. I always thought you just spoke a foreign language and were trying the best you could to speak English.

Pauly - never had a problem with your posts, but nice to hear you have some good new "stuff" (technical term!).

I didn't have a problem with your posts before. And I have said that before, too. Afterwards, I believe that you said that you had dyslexia, which explained your situation. But I was surprised by your recent posts because they didn't look like the ones you posted before. I thought maybe that you had taken some medication. I was right. It was medication for your computer!

windows speech recognition. I used to use dragon. but I abandon it because frankly it made so many typos that it was taking for ever to Write a reply or even a simple e-mail. I find windows speech recognition to be one of the better programs I've tried. And naturally being that it's free I find that even better!LOL

Thank you mskitty but apparently some people did! As they quite clearly let me know in the open forum. This of course caused me a great deal of discomfort. Being one not to take things sitting down I decided to get proactive and and fix this darn program. As I always feel a great deal of personal embarrassment when people point out my spelling problems.

yes I am sorry about the text. As recently I've been under great deal of stress. this no doubt has made my spelling worse. And am sorry to say that sometimes I simply do not bother to spell check what I've written obviously. it quite Draining so I hit the send button and hope that the best.

Re: Just for your info

Pauly, I imagine others like myself had no clue what was up. At one time I thought you were using some short-cut language like some folks use when doing text messaging, etc. that is quite foreign to someone like me that is feeling old some of the time (though not as old as Chong!).

I just read this Dysgraphia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and I see it has many forms and I can only imagine at how frustrating it is for you at times. I'm sorry for once making a post and asking you about it as that probably caused additional stress for you and that was not my intent.

Like I posted in a thread on the ship wreckers last night, many of us have it easy in ways we often take for granted. I hope we can help if, but no other means, with our support.

I don't know if you'd be comfortable in doing so, but maybe putting a link or comment in the signature line would help avoid dummies like me commenting on any spelling mistakes. We can figure out what you're saying fine, it can just be puzzling to understand what is behind it.

Best wishes,

Harvey

Pauly,
Even though there were times that it was difficult to understand some of your posts, I want you to know, that I for one, think your insights are an invaluable part of this great board. I also want you to know that I think you and many others are what makes this board so great. I want to commend you on your efforts and to ask you to keep contributing here. Thanks for sharing this and enlightening some of us to the effects of dysgraphia.
