Importing seeds to Canada
Hey folks..
I'm looking at importing some seeds from the Caribbean to Canada and am wondering if anyone has done this? I checked out the Canada Food Inspection Agency but their site gives me a headache. Any advice appreciated!

Re: Importing seeds to Canada
Just order them or have whoever send them in an envelope. I've sent seeds many times and it isn't a problem at all so no need to stress over it.

Re: Importing seeds to Canada
Generally, I would agree with Bob...if it's not a large quantity of seeds, just have them sent in a padded envelope with no external markings as to contents. If you're importing a LOT, or if they're really VALUABLE, contact your local dept of ag and they can tell you if you need an import permit or a phytosanitary certificate. I doubt Canada has concerns about pests or diseases of bananas Happy growing!

Re: Importing seeds to Canada
Bob's right.
I've been mailing seeds to and from other countries for a few years now and no special measures need to be taken. Just send them off, girl! Make sure you cushion them with something so they don't get crushed. : ) |

Re: Importing seeds to Canada
There are no restrictions on shipping seeds from the U.S to canada, but to ship seeds from canada to the U.S is illegal, doesnt make sense!!
