Thank you Deb... it's comments like that which inspire me even more. It's always been my dream to live in an isolated area such as this, but to work for the better good of something and truely feel like a difference is being made, "now that's priceless" and you don't need mastercard to do it!

Well I just discovered this... someone high up on the website removed my "deceased monkey" pictures. If anyone would like to see exactly what the people are doing to the animals there, please contact me and I will e-mail it to you. These pictures are a little graphic.

I also wanted to post what originally inspired me as a young person to want to go into this path of life... a book called "Level 4: Viruses of the CDC" as well as the movie "Outbreak." If you're one of the ones that had an issue with the pictures, please don't look into these as they will offend you!

This forum is not the United States of America so you don't have freedom of speech here. If the moderators want a particular type of posting on this site, well, they have that right.

Okay, I'm not depicting, threating, or causing anyone harm here. I only posted pictures of a truthful and actual event. It didn't hurt or inflicked pain. I just speak the truth here, and I suppose the saying is correct, "The truth hurts!" So why mess with me? I'm not harming anyone. Why send me so much negative energy? Eat bananas, be happy! If you don't like what I have to say, don't read! If you don't like my pictures, don't look. All it takes is a quick glance, decide you don't like it, and leave on to something else and continue on with your life. Why bother someone about it who is trying to fight for a good cause? What do you do when there's a school shooting on tv and they're showing the bodies? Do you change the channel immediately? Man, I truely can't believe there are such cold hearted people here. I truetly expected more out of the community here! Why not follow the nice golden rule? If you can't say nothing nice, don't say anything at all. I haven't said unkind things to anyone here... so why do some of you feel the need to do it to me and without a just cause at that?

I didn't say anything negative about you, I am just saying that the moderators have the right to screen threads and take out what they think is inappropriate. Maybe you should PM them and see whats going on.

I think what you are doing is wonderful. I just found what I would guess is their official website: Tigre Salvaje a wildlife preserve in Panama

In regards to the photo(s) that were removed, anything thats too graphic and/or elicits horrible memories for our members will be considered for removal. And thats what happened here. In the next few minutes, I will place up a rules page and detail that and many of (the rest of) the other rules of the site. If we're to protect the animals, we're going to protect the people too

It was nice chatting with you on the phone about the project and I do wish you the very best. I have family in Panama and I know life there can be wonderful. The big city would only be a few hours away. The skyline is amazing, check this out:

A lot of development has been going on in recent years, so an initiative like Tigre Salvaje is very important in these times. Keep us posted!

Hi Modenacart, I wasn't speaking specifically of you, but of everyone that has sent me negative feedback, and I didn't receive negatives ONLY due to the photos, but for my intentions as a whole, but thank you for clarifying! Your discussion of the moderators didn't bother me. It's hard to take into account someones emotional language that isn't spoken online and people do have to be aware of that. Something that would come across as funny to some, could be highly offensive to others.

I do want to say that I have received some pretty nasty comments from some people. Please, if you don't want to support my efforts (and I'm not speaking financial, but as a whole), please don't e-mail me with your disapprovements of my efforts. They are pointless and going to go ignored.

Thank you Jarred for your support! I know I really didn't have a chance to speak with you too much about my plans yesterday on the phone as I had things I was in the middle of (and sure you did as well) and couldn't stay on too long. I do understand the reasoning for the removal.

I also would like to ask this of our members who do visit their official website to PLEASE honor my request, if you do contact them, please DO NOT inform them of my intentions of raising money for them. I would like to keep this on the down low as I would like to show up and have it be a big suprise for them with the donations! Of course, this means someone would have to donate something, but it's beginning to look like this project is going to have to start off 100% out of my pocket. That's the reason I didn't post their website on here to try and prevent this from happening! Seriously, no sarcasm here, I cannot expect people to donate, when I myself am guilty for not donating to anything in the past other than my labor and time. I truely would hope that at least some would network through to people that they know that have the spare money, like to get the tax breaks of donating for a good cause that they would also believe in, and help out with the efforts in this area of our continent. Panama is North America just as we are (in the USA)!

Thus far, these are expenses that I have immediately off the bat to try and get this project going: $400+ to get the governmental paperwork filed to make the fund a nationally recognized, IRS, legally tax deductable, tax exempt, non-profit organization; around $60 to get a website domain and host, with a $15 monthly hosting fee (I host websites through yahoo small business). Thus those two so far are the top priorities, but I have a third one, I want to be able to have money to spare to take with me to directly give to them which I feel is more important than than the other priorities, but yet it's harder to get support from say an airline to donate a free roundtrip ticket to auction off without being able to legally make it tax deduction for them, so that's a catch 22!

I'm sure a lack of giving is due to a lack of receiving something tangable, so from now on, any future classifieds of plants I put on here are going 100% to this cause! I'll post here for those plants. I wont however be selling my collection... I have to figure a way of getting my plants there without getting them confinscated! I plan on taking all of my Musaceae, Bromeliaceae, and Orchids! Wish me luck on that one!

New donation counter originating from this thread!

$20

I will be setting this money aside until I'm able to get the legal paperwork completed for the IRS and the states which require it and giving out deductible receipts at that time! I'll also post a grand total counter from all sources that I have made. Any ideas on how to generate donations? Possibly a car wash! Donating a plant for auction?

Thanks for your support!
Josh

Thanks Modenacart. Where in Central America were you thinking? Here's an interesting article I found of Panama VS. Ecuador. Moving, Living & Working in Panama - Ecuador vs. Panama: Is Panama a better retirement haven than Ecuador? - ExpatExchange.com
