Re: How to keep lab puppy away from banana plants?
I'll let the guys tell you what to do; I'm sure they know what I'm thinking. Personally I've never had a dog that did more than sneak ripe blueberries (lab mix); he carefully found his way under the bird netting and we didn't know until he smiled bluely one summer. Sam was also a butter thief which is why my mother, quite disgustedly and much to our chagrin, began storing it in the fridge and not on the table ready to spread on morning toast or evening rolls. Even without yellow teeth we knew it was him.

Re: How to keep lab puppy away from banana plants?
Water & Cayenne Pepper & the Sticky stuff (you add to Weed killer should keep it on the plants for an extended period) Sprayed on the Plants would fix them I do believe.. :^)

Re: How to keep lab puppy away from banana plants?
Easy one....a shock collar on mild, mild setting and a watchful eye will with your finger on the zap button will do the trick.
Trust me my dog Daisy Mae, a black lab, was chewing up everything and never listened until.....I know it sounds cruel, I only used it for approx 5-6 months off and on. Now seven years later she listens and is better behaved then most adults. Jose, true I hear crawfish discarded heads work great as well as discarded boiled shrimp shells. Of course I am available to come over and help you eat then place the discarded heads and tails where you need them:} Seriously, if the pup is old enough the collar used properly will work wonders for years:} Here's Daisy Mae with her nephew Valentine on Banana Plant watch uh or catfish patrol ?:}

Re: How to keep lab puppy away from banana plants?
One thing not to use -----------
My lab makes a beeline to the bananas when I fert with chicken litter. She can still smell the stuff after 2 weeks. I got a roll of plastic fencing and some stick in the ground stakes. Easy to fold back one end for access or mowing. Last edited by bananimal : 04-07-2014 at 11:37 PM. |
