Gunrunner (Fast & Furious, Gunwalker) Timeline

Most people I've talked to know nothing about the fact that the U.S. administration intentionally sent firearms to Mexican drug cartels. I had read about it beginning around December 2010 and didn't understand how this was not "front page" news. It finally started getting covered by mainstream media in May 2011. In my opinion, the coverage of this government corruption is still not given the emphasis that is warranted.

In short, the U.S. administration intentionally sent firearms to Mexican drug cartels under the pretense that they wanted to monitor the flow of firearms even though they really had no effective means for such monitoring. These firearms have lead to increased violence, including the death of U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. Administration officials have lied about their knowledge of these operations.

Here is an extensive timeline of events that have been made public thus far:
Reasoned Politics: Hillary, Eric, Wikileaks and the BATFE Scandal: An Overview and Timeline

Jeeze, I didn't come to Bananas for this kind of crap. Perhaps you could find a more appropriate forum to air your politics. Just saying.:)

Terry this is the Tiki where we can discuss off topic things. When people use it with a grain of respect it's fun.

Terry, Mitchel has already explained to you the guidelines for this sub-forum. We chat about all sorts of non-banana topics here. Many of us have been members of the forum for many years and this is sort of our pub to shoot the bull, etc. There are topics that have come up here that I just skip over if they're not something that interests me.

To correct you on a comment you made, however, I'm not airing my politics. I believe our freedoms are being jeopardized and most folks don't even know it. The misreporting of sources of weapons in Mexico started under the Bush administration, though nothing was really done with the claims at that time. Things have really gone crazy the past couple of years. Sharing the tragedy of Brian Terry's life is nothing about taking political sides.

Perhaps I misspoke. I'm sorry.

Famous quote by Ronald Reagan on June 12th 1987.
"Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

This was as symbolic of the solution as it was a physical part.

Just a quote by Darkman on January, 2, 2012
"Mr. President, build up a border wall!"

Not a solution to drug and immigration problems but a key piece in the solution!

Well, seein' as how I heard that the $$ had already been approved a few years back, and it STILL ain't been built; iffn I was a 'border' state (like maybe Texas), I'd build the dang fence m'self, and bill the feds for our share of the cost. (since the $$ was already ok'd anyway)

States - doing the jobs that the feds just won't do...
