Default GA Farmer Fined $5000 for Growing Organic Vegetables

It was a county zoning issue! (which they changed, but still are charging him!) Where did common sense go in government?

Where I live I can not have a chicken cause they make noise but the commercial property beside me can run backhoes, frontend loaders, forklifts 24/7 and I can't complain.

It's a shame but, the politicians are finding it necessary to force even us'ins that dwell out this far on the edge to choose a side. Look at least a little, before you leap and choose wisely my friends!

I wonder if Monsanto is backing that bill? Can't have any of that d@mn organic stuff cross-pollinating with genetically engineered crops (that are sterile so you can never use them for next year's seed).

You can bet your banana that Monsanto is backing it. I don't want any of their pollen contaminating my seeds! BTW, why would you want to save any of their seeds anyway?

Just my 2 cents worth of hot air.

The Monsanto goal is to have GE seeds that will "self destruct" so that the crops grown by those seeds will never make seeds of their own. That way Monsanto makes farmers dependent on them for seed for every new planting. By indimidating/fining/imprisoning small farmers with non-GE crops they gradually drive out all competition that have ordinary replicating seed crops. You control the seed (and don't give it to troublemakers, and political enemies of your powerful political backers) you control the people in yet another way. Almost seems like the way they wish to control the people via obama-care, doesn't it? They only approve care and expensive procedures to 'some' of the people, deny it to enemies, and pretty soon you eliminate (by attrition) your opponents, and non-sympathizers by fear of not getting care when needed for themselves or family members. Can't go anywhere else, because competitors are all driven out of the market due to high costs, and lack of doctors because the doctors are only getting reimbursed for a fraction of their expenses.

Typical democrat 'regressive' tactic - create a dependency and perpetuate it; that way you control and enslave the people.
