Dog Food
For those with pets.. And dog lovers.
Which brand of Dry food have you been using, and maybe a short why. I have been using Wellness, puppy loves it. But I think its getting a little expensive. Thinking of chaning to a cheaper brand Looking to see what other people are using. |
Re: Dog Food
My pit bull loves food scraps. Especially chicken. The only thing she hates is beans. I don't know why but she won't eat them.
We also give her purina dog chow but only eats very little from it. |
Re: Dog Food
All my dogs get Science Diet. The 2 G Sheps and now the Lab and Shiba. I wait for sales and use coupons. Very little people food.

Re: Dog Food
As a responsible dog owner you do want a dog food with high quality animal proteins listed first in the list of ingredients.and not grains or artificial animal beef/chicken/lamb flavor.
No corn or GMO grain goes into my dogs as it can cause severe allergies. High energy diets like most puppy foods, will promote rapid growth especially in large breeds. Unfortunately that might also lead to the development of orthopedic issues. Cheaper dog foods usually list more grain and fillers than animal protein first, which means you probably will have to feed more of it to keep your dog in good shape - not to talk about the "input /output" ;) I feed and recommend Solid Gold . |

I did find a bag of Science Diet on sale. $12.00 for 30lb. I mixed it 50/50 with a bag of wellness. Figred that would save me some time. As a tip, I have been buying PetCo Gift cards because of the discount on them right now. |

My feed store carries it for $13(!) less per bag than PetCo and we also have a Solid Gold store in town. They sometimes sell mis-printed bags cheaper, but that would never be the reason for me to buy it just because it is cheaper. I am convinced of the quality of their product and our dogs are happy and healthy looking. |
