Default Any interesting and 'must see' movies out there?

Hello folks, the forum's been pretty silent these past few days and so I thought I could open a new topic (let's hope it won't turn to something bad or law-breaking - since it doesn't break any law in my country).
I don't know how about you, but when I want to watch some movie, I usually ask my friends - What is worth watching? Yet with such a limited spectrum of what to see and what to avoid I had to resort to finding more interesting (and more sci-fi, more philosophy, more reality) movies myself. Recently I ended up with 2 of them, which I consider very interesting (to say the least):

I found the first one while browsing the NYTimes web:
Poland Looks Inward After Film Puts ‘Mall Girl’ Culture on View - NYTimes.com

And it caught my attention (although I generally do not resort to watching Polish movies, 'cause there rarely are subtitles)!

-------------------------------------------------------------

Galerianki ("Mall Girls")

I found the description and spoilers very interesting and decided to watch it.
If you want to find out more about this movie, feel free to visit its IMDb link here:
Galerianki (2009)

In essence, I would describe this film as interesting only because it really introduces you into the cruel reality of the world (although I must admit it's by far not so severe here (or at all I would say) as it is in big European countries like Poland, Germany,...).
It is a story of a girl named Ala (Alicja?), who is (even though she doesn't know it) perfectly normal girl. Ala is still an elementary school pupil and she finds herself in a collective of "overmatured" girls and always "intelligent and mature" boys.
It strikes her to see how other people live and that attracts her more and more everyday... until one day she is allowed to hang up with the other girls in the mall and is invited to go with to a discobar. And that's when she breaks down to their influence...
But there's one normal boy and he loves Ala. Will he be able to guide her back from where she wants to go?

This is one movie anyone could be interested in watching (and now I finally know why everyone thinks that Eastern Europe is poor, no, those buildings and surroundings... it doesn't look that here, it looked like that in Slovakia maybe 70 years ago!). For those of you, who can't speak Polish (haha, like almost everyone except Sew ), I took liberty of transcribing English subtitles for the most popular torrent version and it can be found in the attachments to this post ('cause I didn't understand all in the Polish, I had to help myself out..., it is a Subrip file, but the attachment manager didn't allow such format, so I changed the extension to .txt. Just rename it after you download it and change the extension to .srt).

You can go and see this movie online somewhere, but I forgot where and you can download the movie from here too (provided that you want to watch it really badly and have no acces to a reseller with a DVD and must resort to p2p networks. It's a direct link, once you put it into your browser, it will download the tor file without any help from your side):

Code:
http://torrents.thepiratebay.org/5355636/Mall.Girls.2009.DVDRiP.XviD-DvF.5355636.TPB.torrent
Or the version with hard subs:
Code:
http://www.h33t.com/download.php?id=f8c013fbb5129947bbe5a86f2ede2bd94c9242f6&f=Galerianki%202009%20DVDRip%20DivX%20English%20Subbed%20Filmikz.torrent
-------------------------------------------------------------

The Man From Earth

More on the IMDb web: The Man from Earth (2007)

If you are open-minded, philosophically based, sci-fi is your favorite movie flavor and you have 2 free hours, this is the most ideal movie for you (unless you saw it already).

It is a story of one university teacher, who decides to move somewhere else and vanish from everyone's life. He's already moving out and packing, when his colleagues come and do something unexpected: They come to say bye and have a fun time for the last time. During the goodbye talk one professor mentions a question John (the main character) decides to answer with a story. A story, that began several thousands years ago and nobody has heard before...

Really very interesting movie, but with extremely low budget. Nonetheless, this mae it even more interesting, since most of the story happens in one living room and the viewer is led to listen to what they discuss, not what they see. No special effects, just a special movie.
It copies the typical most hilarious French comedies, when everything happens in one room, space, restaurant, hallway... (really, these French comedies are the best comedier I've EVER seen).

Again, for those of you with no access to reseller, here's the tor. link
Code:
http://torrents.thepiratebay.org/5357449/The_Man_From_Earth%5B2007%5DDvDrip_AC3%5BEng%5D-FXG.5357449.TPB.torrent
----------------------------------------------------

If you are tempted to watch any of these movies OR advise some movies we could be interested in (and are not so popular or blockbusters), feel free to post here. Also, if you watch anything from what I wrote about above, let me know how you liked it.

Hey, that girl on the left (above) is losing her skirt!!!
We saw 'Blind side' & loved it - haven't seen a movie for awhile. I''d like to see some of the movies nominated for academy awards like 'Alice in Wonderland' - it is 3d & I really like Johnny Depp.

Recently saw Inglorious Basterds and The Reader and Star Trek- loved them all! Can't beat Blu-Ray on a 50 inch Panasonic plasma.

Yeah, I love linguisticly authentic movies. Shame I can't speak French. But German, English... no problem. They should definitely make more movies like that. And not only one or two sentences in foreign language, but at least few entire dialogues! It would not only support people's interest in learning languages, but might be good for training one's ear and comprehension of those languages.
