Default Winter Orchid Surprise

Lookee what bloomed in the midst of all the below average cold weather here in So Fla. Lost the name tag for this cattlea unfortunately.

Threw this guy on a shelf last summer under 50% shade cloth. Watered when I remembered. Never fertilized. And look what happened. Last year two flowers - this year six. Amazing. Just another day in paradise. Uhhhhh, where's my coat and watchcap!!!

Dan

Just beautiful Dan. I find mine thrive on benign neglect too - more orchids are killed by too much attention than any other cause.

Fantastic beauty! I share your joy in your winter surprise. A dendrobrium just started blooming in my kitchen window, while snow and ice are beyond in the backyard. Ain't plants wonderful??
