I have 2 in the ground. Not growing particularly well and certainly aren't blooming but I'm hoping, at some point, to have some little white Gretel fruits. Every other place I've grown eggplant the flea beetles ate them up. Here? Nope. But they sure aren't thriving. Grow boxes or raised beds with bottoms appear to be the answer in FL--thus far only veggies in pots have produced for me.

I tried some this year for the first time ever. They've doubled in size in two weeks but aren't near as big as those yet

I just sowed some; Black Beauty they're called. The Organic Early Long Purple I tried didn't sprout so I resowed with BB. Fingers crossed

I do, they take a few years to get going really good here. the bugs mess up the fruit when they are young. my buddy next door had a big one that was 2 years old and it got sprayed by his neighbor and killed.
