I have a Trachycarpus fortunei palm planted in the soil in my garden, which has now got some spots on the new leaves. Could it be some disease or are I'm doing something wrong?
I have post a picture of it, sorry for the blurry picture. |

Hi, BLN, before I forget, look at the European section pallie, you will find climatically related friends there.
![]() To your problem, it can be of 2 causes: Too much dry heat, in which case the spots would represent a certain plant tissue damage to the leaves (not deadly) or it's just small cuttings from various insects and birds. None of those conditions is deadly, sometimes the leaves do it, because the Trachys are from China region, where the humidity is higher than in Europe.

You also may have thrips, rather than scale. both are treatable.

Thanks for all the answers. But I don't now what "scales" and "thrips" are, sorry for my bad english.
But it is not seeing to get worse, so maybe it is just the humidity, like Jack says. I think I wait a little, and se what happens. |

thrips and scales are are pesty insects that suck the jiuce out of your plant and when they are wasged away by the rain or waterhose or you wipe them off this happens to your palm dont worry it should be ok as long as the pests are gone
