Question Re: What'cha got sprouting? (other plants)

Tony,

It's great that you are still able to grow Incarnata seedlings this time of year. May I ask what is the white staff in your pot?

Rae

The white is perlie and the smaller gold is vermiculite. I do have them on a heat mat.

Tony,

Thank you for your reply. Since I have never used perlite or vermiculite before, I always got those two mixed up.

For those who are as confused as I am about perlite and vermiculite, I'd like to share with you the link of a new web site I find:

EnjoyGardening » Perlite vs. Vermiculite This web site explains perlite and vermiculite in a way I can easily understand and remember...

Most folks in the org are highly accomplished gardeners; I hope you don't mind my asking such rudimentary questions at times.

Congratuations on the success of your loquat seedlings shown here and passion fruit seedlings shown in another thread. Have you thought about where you are going to plant them outdoors when they are ready?

And congratuations to everyone who are still growing seedlings this time of year.

Cameron,

I left some comments for your photos. Do you have any deer problem? I used to grow three loquat trees. They were doing quite well until deer came and eat them. Be careful with yours!!!

Hi Rae. That's terrible about your loquat seedlings. I've never seen a deer around here, there may be some but they seem rare in this area. I dont think anyone around here has had problems with them although the area I live in is kind of rural
