What tropical fruits can I root cuttings of?

Does anyone know what tropical fruit trees are possible to root cuttings from? I can obtain several types of commercial rooting hormones. I am wondering if trees such as citrus, avocado, lychee/rambutan, jackfriut, miracle fruit, cocoa, ect. will root from cuttings or is grafting the only way to propagate them.

I don't know about any other fruit, but citruses are difficult to root. It really depends on the variety or type of citrus. For example any crosses with Poncirus (citrange, citrumelo, dioscuria...) usually root very well (along with Poncirus), but to be honest, most of the citruses don't. I don't know what improvement would the hormones do, but in general, it is problematic with citruses. There are however experts, who can force rooting in any tree (temperate, subtorpical or tropical climates).

Not familiar with all of these. I have grown lychee from seed. With citrus, grafting is probably the most desireable method, as you can use the rootstock that is best suited to the particular situation. Using Poncirus trifoliata as a rootstock will give you a dwarf tree. There are also cold tolerant, and nematode resistant rootstocks, etc. However, they can be rooted from cuttings and, with the use of rooting hormones, they're not too difficult. Most of the ones sold in airport gift shops, and other touristy places, are rooted cuttings.

Regarding citrus cuttings: I was able to get some lime tree cutting to root with the help of an EZ Cloner. This is an areoponics chamber with rubber collars that hold cutting in place while water jets stimulate root production. I positioned florescent T5 lights above the cloner.

Most cuttings root in about seven days. It took several weeks to force these citrus plants into producing roots.

The plants seem to be doing fine.

Myers lemon cuttings root comparatively easily and fruit in 2 years - from seed we have had good results from lychee and cashew and grapefruit - but didn't wait for the grapefruit to bloom as they got too big and had to go. Dragonfruit grow fast from seed too - sprout within the week.
