Default What is this plant?

My best guess is that it is a member of the marantaceae family because the petiole at the far right seems to have a swelling at the leaf juncture.

I would say it is artificial, and just someone's 'suggestion' of something he thought he saw at one time.

My guess would be Musa Loch Ness Monsteria, or
Musa Bigafootia.

OMFG!

I haven't seen one of these in at least thirty or forty yahre! OMG, this is a taste of home! Praise the Ordnok! This particular variety of the Ignoetsj family is actually Ignoetsj tuteryienaious, and is native to my home planet of Morazoxx. It only grows in the northeastern portion of the southern continent, and is very rare. It flowers once after seventy five yahre or so, and then it dies.

Where did you find this?! I am soooo homesick right now. Your planet is so damned hot! The only place I can find refuge is Svalbard and something called McMurdo Station.

It is very rare that I have an opportunity to let loose like that on this forum, given the rather droll topics that are typically posted. It is also possible that I may have consumed a few vodka and KoolAids (why does it keep suggesting Rolaids? Vodka and Rolaids does NOT sound like a particularly appetizing combination) prior to posting that reply.

God, these 1 1/2 day work weeks are KILLING me. I feel like I've been run over by a steamroller sometimes.

Anyway, in all seriousness, that planet was taken from a script I'm currently working on that's loosely based on my podcast. See, my cat supposedly produces the show (his favorite band is Abba, BTW, which drives me nuts), and I applied it to a storyline that takes an ordinary housecat who gets abducted by aliens and has the consciousness of an ancient being named Moratok implanted into his brain. I happened to be going over some notes when I read this thread, and decided to have some fun with it. Cheers!

Well, I'm writing it with the voice of Gilbert Gottfried as the snarky cat. Imagine a cat with the intellect of a genius and the mental maturity of a five year old child and put his voice behind it. It's going to be funny as hell. I don't usually do comedy, but every now and then I get a unique idea.

Someone on another forum identified it as calathea lutea and also pointed out the flower that I missed.

I was going to say a cute chick with some really shapely thighs, and her boyfriend inspecting a thatched roof, but I guess we were looking at the Rorschach test a bit differently.

If you watched the TV show, Extra, you wouldn't have eyes for any other girl besides Jennifer Lahmers.
