i found this bush in the yard and its only maybe a foot tall. theres no thorns and the stems are very thin and it makes red flowers that are an inch wide. the flowers are still red but now theres a big orange seed inside that looks like a acorn. does anybody know? thanks for any help. =)

It might be a Japanese ornamental pomegranate. Some produce not much of a fruit at all and that might be the "acorn" you're seeing.

thats exactly how the flowers looked last summer. Thanks! =D that will help save it this winter too cuz now i know it can die if it gets colder than 12*F. i read that banana plants can be protected with insulation and Christmas lights so i can do that and protect the bush when its too cold.
