Here are some of about 2 dozen or so miracle fruits I potted up (or transplanted) and some still waiting, only another dozen or so to go.

I have been fascinated with dragon fruit lately. I've never seen the fruit nor tasted it, but I decided to try and grow some. I have some 3-week old seedlings that are tiny. Today, I found this plant on sale at Lowes. It's supposed to have a grafted cactus on the top, but it had fallen off. I paid $1.74. Yea! I love a deal.

I don't know what variety it is. The sticker does not say because the dragon fruit plant is only being used as rootstock to grow the grafted moon cactus. If you look at the green stems of the plants in the picture, you will see hylocereus undatus (a.k.a dragon fruit or pitaya). Most nursery/hardware stores sell this type of plant at some point in the year.

a flaming fury peach tree, one of the later maturing ones. I forget what number or series name though. Have you ever had them? we bought some from a local produce auction, and they were great!

Well didn't actually plant it yet, but it is in my backyard. Picked up a yellow Grumichama at the Florida Tech Botanical Fest today.

The only thing I actually planted in the ground was a loofah gourd vine. But I did put down a real assortment of seeds to start, including:
* Strawberry corn - forms small red strawberry size ears that you just pop in the mircrowave * Minnesota Midget Cantalope (for greenhouse growing) * Sugar Baby watermelon (for greenhouse growing) * Dead man's finger/ Blue bean tree (decasinea fargesii) - not quite sure what I will do with 15 of these.... Anything weird and wonderful I will try at least once ![]() |

If I knew of this thread a couple weeks ago I would've added a list of over 160 different trees and shrubs, but, as of today it's just two Arbequina Olives, a Maurino olive, a Leccino olive, a White pomegranate, a Red Silk pomegranate, a Wonderful pomegranate, and a Sweet pomegranate.
Yesterday was two Montmorency cherries and a Stella cherry. |
