You're talking about Dovyalis caffra? It's native range is south of the equator.

There are a few inscrutable plant sellers here that have tried selling "self fertile" Kei Apple. But when the plants are moved miles away from male Kei Apple they never produce. It will be interesting if yours do!

Hello again! I know that keis are from South Africa, but there was a lot of emigration from Madeira island to South Africa and Venezuela on old times. I got it from friends that only have a producing variety. No male and female keis there.

No. The Kei Apple was never native to Madeira. Perhaps you have a different Dovyalis species?

Hello again. I didn't say this is native to Madeira. I say this kei was taken to Madeira by imigrants on South Africa.

If you are referring to the tree at The Botanical Garden of Madeira, it is a female with male grafts attached.

The only way to get viable seeds from a dioecious plant is by male pollination.

Default 22 lbs. of Steakhouse Tomatoes

Now, mostly turned into juice. I often drink 1 gal./day.

I planted cherry tomatoes around the caged tomatoes so that squirrels eat the cherry tomatoes instead of the large tomatoes. It works! Last year, without cherry tomatoes, the squirrels ate most of my large tomatoes. As you probably know, they tend to take one bite out of many large tomatoes instead of finishing a tomato.

Today, I went out to find a ripe tomato for a sandwich. I ended up picking 10 lbs. more of ripe Steakhouse tomatoes. It is definitely better than Big Zac.

Regarding the unwanted rotation, if you used File Explorer to "rotate" the JPEG file to an upright position, it is probably the fault of Windows 10. The methods used differ between Windows 10 and previous versions. For example, if you view a Windows 10 "rotated" JPEG in Windows 7 File Explorer or Windows 7 Paint, it will be unrotated. The Windows 7 rotation method works with all programs but the Windows 10 method only works with some programs.

Unfortunately I have windows 10. I did find a way of rotating the image once I had uploaded it but that either caused the site to crash or the thumbnail to disappear.
I unfortunately have a lot of issues with this site, including being unable to upload images (these are the first images I've been able to upload in over a year) and even being unable to access it for days at a time.
It's no fun being a "lurker"
