For the last 2 years it comes up in my patio literally; it grows from an expansion crack. Now it's coming up again! This plant is supposed to be rated zone 8 as a perennial, but as far as I'm concerned it's one tough little focker!

I'll post a pic when it flowers.

Here it is in the patio yesterday.

My Musa Basjoo mama with 5 of her pups. The sixth one, it was then #3, I severed off last fall and “grew”
it in a pot inside. It did not a whole lot of growing there, but it survived and now shares a pot with a canna.
To the right is a scarlet carpet rose climbing up my Dizzy Prune. That is supposed to be a ground cover
rose not growing higher than 2’. It is now >5’.

In the pink pot at the bottom left grows still very slowly, even though it is reasonable warm now, my Costus.
I believe that it is suffering from the dry air here.

Another view of the same. There are actually two roses of the same cultivar in this picture, the one
in the right is the younger one

And this is the street view with my little "tropical patch" in the background right.

Amazing how we both have our P. Lady Margaret growing by the trash bins! And I agree with Brent; they ARE beautiful!

Its hard for me to to pick a favorite plumeria, but for the northern grower, it doesnt get better than Plumeria "Divine". Its the only plumeria to bloom reliably every single summer. I have 5 flower heads this year, and one of them is in full bloom now! The fragrance is nice. Another plus is that it stays very small. Mine is only about 2.5 feet tall, but it has already flowered 5 times. They are great potted plants.
7.25.11

Most of the crapes are in bloom here, but my Crape Myrtle "Zuni" hasnt started its blooms yet. Im finally seeing buds on it though so I will post pics of that in about 2 weeks when its in full bloom!
