Hi, Migael,
I agree with Saltydad. From the picture you posted, the flowering plant looks like Mexican petunia. In Georgia, it is a very popular landscaping plant except that only purple-colored Mexican petunia is being sold here. I have never seen the white ones, which is also another pretty color. Half of the Mexican petunias I grow did not come back this year because of deer problem. But like you said, they can be invasive, and they are easy to root from cuttings. I personally thought it is a great plant for a beginner gardener like me. They are easy to take care of and produced flowers easily.

I got the dwarf variety and it's growing in cracks between the driveway and sidewalk.

Wow, John. A crape myrtle and in bloom! In Westchester the only crape myrtles we had were in pictures. I guess SI really is warmer. BTW, both my Tonto and Dynamite crape myrtles are blooming now.
