Default Unknown variegated bamboo

I don't know much about bamboo. I saw this variegated bamboo today in Sacramento County (USDA hardiness zone 9b, Sunset zone 14). Anybody have an idea what variety this might be? (Photo taken with my phone)

It looks like "Arundo Donax" to me. The variegated form. Not a Bamboo.
I could be mistaken though???

Ron, is correct. As far as I know it's a native of the Mediterranean region. Has become an invasive plant in other parts of the world.

There is also a pure green form, it's quite hardy and certainly in CA.
It's related to sugarcane as far as I know. It's not so invasive, i have
grown it and it forms a clump, you need no barrier..
Someone overhere grows it in his pond in the water.

Thanks, guys, that looks like what it is. I read that it can be invasive in warmer regions as it self sows from seed. Though it reportedly prefers water, I found it growing in a non-irrigated bed of a parking lot which was quite dry.
