Default Thai Plumeria Seedling

Hello Gang;

Last Summer I Started To Grow Plumeria, Ordered A Bunch Of Seeds From Thailand And They Have Grown Vigorously, I'm Decorating My Front Landscape With Them , They Are Awesome Looking Trees & I'm Hooked , I Have Also Studied There Cold hardiness Here In NE Florida & They Can Take 30f Unprotected Which Is Amazing For This Tropical Plant..

Thanks For Viewing Ed.

Did you have to purchase a phytosanitary certificate to receive the plumeria seeds from Thailand?

With so many plumeria types available here in the US, why anyone would order seeds from overseas?

When I looked in eBay for plumeria seeds, and I just double-checked...100% of the offerings were seeds from Thailand. I didn't think twice about it. But I just read that it takes 3-4 years to get flowers from seeds, so I may be re-thinking this idea.

the price of seeds versus plants/cuttings would be the reason to buy in bulk from overseas. i just did the same thing for roselle. i got something like 150 seeds from thailand for $8 versus a few bucks each per plant in the states. i am looking to plant a lot so even though i'll have to wait, it will work out in the long run.

Incorrect, check the box U.S only, and over 100 come up, 15-35 seeds under $10 no federal laws broken.

Thanks, I didn't think about that. All the auctions I saw were from Thailand and I assumed that's just how things were.

But is it illegal to buy seeds from overseas?
