Jealous, jealous, jealous!!!!!

I think I may see some swelling of the Patio Temptation, but too soon to tell for sure or pictures. I am giving them another try. You know me, if at first I don't succeed .... I try, and try again!

Greg how are your variegated ones doing? Don't forget to save us some seeds!

hi Sherry.
My strawberry plant is not looking good now.
I think I may have over watered it as the leafs are turning brown on the edges. So I think i may have.
Should I trim off the brown ones? The flowers are starting to open. I can post a pic tonight.

nice. honestly i'm too embarrassed to show a pic. basically all the leaf tips are a bronze brown and the leafs are a slightly darker green. I'm pretty positive I over watered it last weekend.
Should I just cut off the brown ends? The flowers are trying to open, but they look sad as well.

ok so i trimmed the brown tips and cut one leaf out that looked in bad shape. Then on the other side I found another small flower trying to grow. I will make sure going forward not to over feed or over water. I hope it starts to recuperate soon.

Don't worry about showing a shot.

Once leaves turn brown they will never be green again, so it's good to remove them and clean the plant of any dead branches or leaves.

Yeah, overwatering can be a killer so allow the soil to dry for awhile. Hopefully you have good drainage holes in the pot so the water can continue to drain.

Good luck. Tommy.

OK I am trying again with an AeroGarden strawberry! I haven't had any luck with sprouting in seed starter medium nor damp paper towel, so I put these directly in an AG sponge. I take the humidity dome off a couple times a day and I did pull it up out of the basket some, so we shall see!

Fingers crossed!

Good luck, Janan! I'm sure it will work out well for you. You can also some of my Alpine seeds when I send them off with the bulb on the weekend.

Has anyone ever tried the giant strawberries before?

I saw this listing on eBay *NEW* GIANT STRAWBERRY *25 seeds*FRAGARIA ANANASSA L.*RARE*SWEETEST*HUGE #1105-A | eBay

I used to grow strawberries, but replaced the entire bed with blueberries as they are much easier to take care of and I always had a problem with strawberries getting eaten by slugs, pill bugs and other insects. They also grew kind of small, but blueberries worked better for me.
