Benny,
Nice!! butterscotch candies make real good decorations on citrus Christmas tree.. just put hook through one end of wrapper to hang it by..
My kids wanted to do the same thing to my Etrog but I thought it might be a conflict of interest for the tree.. LOL

Benny,
Here is George 2005 in all his glory.. I used curled ribbon, butterscotch candies, small string of lights, a few orange colored glass balls and a bow on top for decorations.. poor thing didn't have any fruit.. but looked very festive..
every yr since the kids have bugged me about using another Citrus for the Christmas tree.. Maybe they are just burnt out on candy canes and liked the butter scotch as something different??

If you could.. get some pictures of the ripe guava fruit cut open?? I have a guava seedling and was trying to describe how the fruit should be to hubby.. would be easier to say look here at this post..
Thanks!!

Gina:
Your Kumquat tree looks so cute with all the decorations.
It's OK even though it has no fruit. Those yellow balls more than compensate for the missing fruit.
Regarding my guavas, those were my last years' harvest. They were so good and tasty. They were so good with less seeds and all meat. It almost tasted like a soft young coconut.
But the arctic blast got it for good. So I don''t have it anymore.
It's my fault that I did not cut the fruit and take a picture before I ate it.
I thought I was going to have it for a long time.
Sorry.

Benny

Good looking harvest benny!!!
No worries about the Guava.. Sorry to hear of the plants death..
The Guava I have was from a trade so I never got to eat the fruit and honestly I don't know that I've ever had Guava out side of canned stuff in tropical fruit salad.. Not all that yummy.. So the description of the flavor was very helpful..
Call me brave of foolish but I'm growing about half a dozen seedling I have no idea what they will taste like when and if I get fruit..

Gina:
Thanks.
If I were you I'd just order a guava tree from Ebay or google the word guava tree and you can pick the nursery you want to order it from.
So in a year or two you can taste the fruit.
Many times there are already fruit on the tree when you buy it.
Good luck.
Benny
