Red face Re: Some of my plants down the street

Great job, Tony!

It amazes me how well people like you can grow plants, fruit trees, flowers, vegetables, etc. Thank you for posting all those pictures. Even though some of us beginner gardeners cannot grow plants as well, it gives me hope, by looking at your and others' pretty pictures, that maybe one day I can be like. Hopefully that day will come before I get too frustrated by the 100 degrees weather and all the unwelcomed vistors in my yard and decide to give up this hobby.

Thanks. I have a good climate so it's pretty easy to grow plants here.

Tony,

I saw a very nice picture of your lime tree you uploaded today. What's the size of your pot you grow your lime tree in? Do fruit trees need to have a big pot in order to bear fruit?

If I'm not mistaken, you have a picture of a potted grapefruit tree in your photo gallery. I was amazed at how many grapefruits it had when I saw that picture.

My lemon trees, started from seeds, are still in fairly small pots, but one of them is now 5 feet tall. Since I don't have a sunny place in my backyard to plant them, and since they might die as I was told, I may continue to grow them in pots.

That is a 30gal. pot.I've had citrus fruit in 15gl pot.Eventually the plant will get root bound and you'll need to get a larger container or prune the roots.

Hi, Tony,

Sorry about mistaking your orange tree as a lime tree, my bad.

And thank you for sending me the link of the cirtus forum:

Citrus Growers Forum :: Index

Other people may find this web site very helpful. It's a cool web site.

30 gallon or even 15 gallon pot sounds heavy to me. Maybe I'll keep them as ornamental trees instead and not worry about not getting fruits. Other than I have to water them a lot, I have no other concerns for growing them. I have no insects issue, and magically, deer, rabbits, and squarrels all leave them alone.

Thank you for sharing so many great pictures with us, and

Best wishes to all your plants!!!
