Default scorpion or spider orchid

any one out there in banana land doing anything with Arachnis i.e.scorpion orchid??better in pot or in pile of mulch on ground??are they tolerant of lower temps or do they need protection from anything below 50???thanks

Unless in a strong wind, they do better hanging up in a wooden-slat basket with a few large chunks of orchid bark, and about 2 or 3 wettings down each week. And the name Arachnis is because of the spidery look of the blooms. Regarding temps, I couldn't tell you, we never get that cold here.
