Default Queen palm needs to go into the garage due to a freeze on Tuesday

However it is quite large right now. This is probably the last year I can pull it into the garage.
I have a question, can I cut off some of the longest fonds or will that destroy it?

My choices are to pull it in and fold the fonds as best as I can to get it below ceiling height or cut them off a bit, more or less trim them.
What would be the best?

Oh my I live in Daytona Beach and 3 years ago we had the coldest temperatures in over a hundred years. we had 4 hours of snow and temps down to 23 for several hours. EVERYWHERE in town Queen palms are planted by the thousands and not a single one was hurt. They can take severe temps. I do not know where you are and how low your tems get but they can take hard frorst without into the mid 20's without problems at all.
