Is it worth the time to grow passion vines from seed ? Some articles say passion vines grown from seeds may take years to produce flowers. Am I wasting my time trying to grow plants from seeds that will produce flowers and fruit next year ?

I am not sure how long it will take from seed but the vines can be purchased at a very reasonable price and they grow quite fast. Some species grow like weeds! I ordered about 15 species from this supplier Grassy Knoll Exotic Plants grassy knoll exotics. They all arived in very good shape and promptly. I killed about half of them, but that's because I am not the greatest horticulturist! The quality of the plants I received was great and the Lady that runs the website was very helpful. All of the plants flowered with the 1st 6 month and some already had them when they arrived.

I bought a passionfruit, and extracted the seeds.

I planted the seeds, in February, in the greenhouse.
Here's one of the seedlings, after several weeks.

Plants were put outside, in May. I had flowers in September.

While getting ready to bring plants back inside, in October, I found fruit.

Fruit was ripe in December, and I was ready to start the cycle over again.

i grow lots of Passiflora love them the are such happy plants its true that some if grown from seed can take up to 3 years to produce fruit but there are others that only take one season iv got a nice link to one of the largest data bases on the net for the culture of Passiflora here is it

this guy has spent his life growing and studding Passiflora you can ask him any thing and hes always gives good advice although i have rarely had to ask him any thing the data base is so extensive there about 3000 pages worth of material
