I do not believe anyone in the U.S. has true P.phoenicea. They're all going to be crosses with another passiflora.

This plant has been grown for many years as Passiflora alata 'Ruby Glow' but more recently been identified as a species, Passiflora phoenicea,
There is p.alata and (p.alata ,ruby glow) Phoenicea. Two different plants, both very similar, flower s are almost identical, fruit is shaped different but taste the same. Not trying to be a smart a$$ just letting you know. You can find p.alata seed but not (p.alata ruby glow) phoenicea seed.

I'm giving Passiflora caerulea another shot. This time I'm going to try germinating them outside. I put several seeds in each pot, watered them in, and then covered it with a compost-perlite mixture. Hopefully it will do the trick this time, as the seeds are fresh.

I also managed to get some pictures of the parent plant's flowers.

Absolutely stunning!

I put them in my dog's food and let them decide where to plant.
Yesterday after harvesting some bananas, I looked up to find this.
The ground was covered with hundreds.
Dogs are great.

Any idea of how long fresh caerulea seeds typically take to germinate? I haven't seen anything on mine yet.

^Which variety is that? It looks just like the one I was going to ask about.

Can I get an ID on this variety i just bought from a nursery. Alata? Quadrangularis?

Thanks!
