Orange Seedings
 

I have some orange seedlings that I have started about two years ago and was thinking of trying to graph to them. Is this hard and where do I get branches? Not many places in NC to find any.

For graphing I would use pencil and paper or some illustration software ;)

For grafting, you are looking for a source of citrus scion wood. Do you know what kind of rootstock those seeds were grown on, or were they from store-bought oranges? Do you have any varieties of oranges you are interested in grafting onto your seedlings?

I guess I will need to get some paper and a pencil.

The seedings are seeds I grew from tangerine and clemintine seeds. Not sure what kind I should try to graph.

The Clementine is a kind of Tangerine, so your seedings are all Tangerines -- or more formally: Manderins. My first pick for grafting on to them would be "Gold Nugget", and the second "Owari Satsuma". Here's an idea for you: order one of these online from Four Winds Growers and when it is growing healthfully, use it as a source for graft material onto your seedlings. If you do order one online, make sure you follow their instructions and have a pot w/ soil ready to put it in: the plant will arrive bare root!

The Clementines: no. The others: it would be very rare.
