Heres a look at some of my pineapples. I just picked my first of the year yesterday, have 18 varieties, about 2/3 are not yet in production. Will get to taste 6 varieties this year, my most so far: Smooth Cayenne, Royal Hawaiian, Spanish Red, MD-2, Champacca and one I can't remember without looking at my notes. They're easy to grow and require little care, and love a bunch of organic matter.

i saw a pineapple at lowes the other day that looked like some of your pineapples, i was wondering are all pineapples of the edible variety? cause i might just go back and get it but i was afraid it was inedible because it was kept with all the houseplants. much thanks in advance.

I have one blooming right now. I can't wait. I usually have about one a year and it's a treat to watch them grow and develop.

Can these be grown in the desert? Las Vegas in particular? With or without a greenhouse?
I'm thinking fruit cocktail with bananas here. Mixed with some other great fruit. |

I actually sold them at work for $4 each. Waiting for my Royal Hawaiians to get ripe for myself (and red spanish). I'm in central Florida. In Vegas it might get too hot, might need shade cloth, and if it gets freezing you'll need to protect them from that.

Just now saw this thread, what kind of perforance enhancing chemicals are you giving those things ? They look great! I can't wait to see more pics.. Nothing tastes as good as the ones you grow yourself. Congrats!
