Default most cold hardy aloe

hi

What are the most cold tolerant aloe?
I did hear of some aloe tolerating 20 F but i don't think that is true.

also does someone knows aloe's that are good in light shade, i would love to grow it inside or under a growlamp the only problem is that i got a house facing the north/ north east.

OK - most cold-hardy prize in my experience goes to A. arborescens. It is also shade-tolerant and fairly quick-growing.

the hardiest one is supposedly A. polyphylla. There are several that are good into the upper teens with no damage, like A. vera (the true species), A. saponaria and a couple others I can't think of.
