Default Hylocereus sp. sun tolerance

At my previous home in Rancho Penasquitos CA I grew several varieties of Pitaya, among them H. guatemalensis (aka American Beauty) and H. ocamponis. I'm now considering planting them at my home in western Vista CA. For anyone else who has grown these specific Dragon Fruit, what is your experience with their sun tolerance?
