Harvested some small 10 pounders today. It'll be interesting to see what the big ones weigh.

How much time passed from the first pictures of the small trees, to the pictures of the larger trees. Your trees look really good.

The pictures of the larger (same) Papaya trees was taken on last Friday, January 8, 2016....

Wow! They do grow fast. Really fast. So about how long from planting a seed to getting ripe fruit? I want to try and pull this off. I am thinking plant some seeds in the house during winter,then plant them out in the spring. Just a thought. Your Papayas look really good.

Art least for me, from planting a seed to fully ripe fruit about 6 to 8 months approx.....


Mark, like you said plant the seeds on pots in the house during winter time, when spring time comes plant them outside or in the biggest pots that you can get.....


I prefer on the ground because Papaya Trees develop deep root system, but I have to mention/consider your growing zone, growing conditions.....

When they start growing (1 to 2 feet tall) trans-plant them on the biggest pots that you can get (like you said, you have a forklift) so it will be easier for you to move them when winter times comes again.....

I really think this can be done in my zone. Thank you for your advice. I may buy a Papaya from the grocery store and see if I can get any seeds to grow. Not sure if that plant would be worth growing,but I could get the technique down. Papaya looks like a fun and rewarding plant to grow. Can't wait!
