Oh yes Kevin...roses can easily bloom inside. You should pick yourself up one of those mini-rose bushes in a pot and you can bring it inside to bloom throughout winter. ;)

Looking forward to your Delphinium shots soon...

Here's my blooming Celosia today...

Even the leaves are purplish...

This is a beautiful smelling petunia that's bi-colored. It just started blooming for me a few days ago...

A lot of people don't know it but petunias are a favorite of hummingbirds. When they're grown in a hanging basket, hummers are especially drawn to them.

Also too, petunias release their fragrance in the evening and at night...never in the daytime when the sun is on them. Some of the large grandiflora types, although beautiful, have sacrificed their scent for bigger & more spectacular blooms...but I prefer the scented types. There's nothing like them. The one I have now is very sweet smelling and I keep it in an open window so the sweet scent wafts all night. :D

Get yourslef some petunias! They grow incredibly inside as well! :goteam:

I've had them come up close to my face outside too, Greg. They even come up to my windows and flutter in front of them for awhile, wondering why they can't get at the flowers. :(

This is actually a normal thing for them to do, (come up close to you), and another thing a lot of people don't know is that hummers are very bold creatures and they are not one bit shy. This is why they come so close whereas other birds wouldn't be caught dead anywhere near your reach. Hummers are awesome and they'll love your petunias if they're in a hanging basket but not in the garden near the ground.

Re: Growing Flowers Indoors...

I found out some very interesting information about Gerbera Daisies...

Gerbera Daisies (Gerbera Jamesonii) can in fact be grown as perennials indoors, flowering all year long. Caring for them as a houseplant not only livens up your home but purifies your indoor air of toxins. They are listed in the top 12 “Green” air cleaners by NASA. People are catching onto this fact, but they haven’t quite figured out how to grow them and care for them.

Isn't that so cool about NASA rating them as one of the top 12 air cleaning plants?! How amazing is that?! I love them even more now!
