My Brother-Inlaw Lives In Spain , I am trying to maybe have him send me 10 Gomera Mango seeds to see how they propagate here in NE Florida ..
This Is What The Canary Island Nursery Stated About Delivery To USA. Dear Ed, Our minimum order is set at 50 eur. So you could buy two plants, being the price €27.20. A rough quotation would be so: 54,40 € Two Mangifera Gomera-1 10,70 € DUA-SAD Custom Document 38,55 € Shipping cost for two plants, bare rooted in moist sphagnum would weigh about 2 kg. We will add a free phytosanitary certificate. We need you to send us an APHIS import permit number, before we ship the parcel, or if you don't have one, you should obtain an APHIS permit. Please read more here: APHIS Permit for the customers in the USA. Can Any One Calculate the exact amount In USD? And what is a APHIS import permit number, & where do i get one. Thank You,, |

Re: Gomera 1 Mango Tree.
APHIS = Animal & Plant Health Inspectio Service, from the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture. Just Google APHIS, and you'll get all the info.

Re: Gomera 1 Mango Tree.
This must be a rare Mango cause the Folks at Fairchild Botanical Gardens just e-mailed me asking for its scientific name & asked me what country it is from.
And they are the Mango Experts .. |
Re: Gomera 1 Mango Tree.
Hi! I have one Gomera mango tree on the ground for two years. Didn't fruit yet but i'm shure it will next year. Never protect her because she never nead it. She experience our cold winter very well with min temp of -3C. I try Osteen and Kent mango trees but both die in winter, even covering them. On my oppinion it's a must to have on cold locations like mine. I think Glenn mango it's very cold hardy too and i didn't decide to buy it or not. I'm thinking to graft some varieties later to this gomera tree. I will post some pics later. :08:

Luis, As Richard stated, Valencia Pride it should perform very well in your zone. The tree is kind of big, but manageable..... |
