I am growing finger lime successfully. In fact, I have more of the fruit than I know what to do with (most recipes are with seafood which I don't eat).
The fruit itself is lime-like in flavor with turpentine undertones. Removing the vesicles from the fruit has been a very sticky experience from me. The fruit are on the dry side and this seems to make the flesh stickier than other varieties.
Even the small fruit have hundreds of the vesicles which do an amazing job of not bursting open while being removed. There are very few seeds, in the 5 fruit I opened one day there were 2 potentially viable seeds.
The tree itself is very ornamental: very small white flowers and leaves on long branches. The fruit look almost out of place because they are so large in comparison to the foliage.
Here in California (or online) Four Winds is a great source for Finger Limes if you want to grow one.

Wow, the culinary aspects of this fruit seem impressive. I'm thinking things up right now. Thanks for introducing me to it y'all.

I've given up on growing citrus right now until there is a cure for greening disease - it's pervasive down here. It's the worst thing I've seen however there are gmo citrus plants that are being grown in test plots here in florida that have both immunity to greening and canker.

Wise choice for Florida. Greening and all of the other citrus diseases are scary and annoying. On the one hand here in Northern California the biggest citrus problems on my trees are scale. On the other hand I can't get Rutaceae species from out of state or even from Southern California.
Luckily, the finger lime is not a very large tree. You could easily have it indoors or perhaps outside with some insect netting.

I grow red & green finger lime. No fruit yet but I always hear it tastes like turpentine. Can't wait to use it in cooking.
