This year, finally after 3 years of drought, we are getting enough rain so that I don't have to spend almost every waking moment of free time watering plants in the yard. (And I finally got around to rigging up sprinklers on timers, LOL) so I have had time to devote to other things (like, for example, making totems for greenhouse climbers, weeding, trimming, planting....)
I took these updated photos of some greenhouse plants the other day. I hope you enjoy them. Some of these plants have really grown from the last photo taken. SOme are relatively new plants, like this one. Anthurium polyschistum ![]() |

This is a Queen anthurium (A. warocqueanum) I have had for several years now. It took a while to get established, but once it did it really started growing well. I have heard a lot of people say that they have trouble with this plant. I think its just a slow starter. The larger leaves are over 2 feet long.

This may be my current favorite anthurium. Its somewhat rare, if I recall it only grows in one little spot in Mexico or something like that. Until it was imported in larger numbers a year or two ago mostly the only people who had it were serious aroid collectors and botanists like Dewey Fisk. But its becoming more available in the US though quite expensive, often $100 or more for a small seedling (I got mine from Ecuagenera in Ecuador for a LOT less but I think they have been sold out for a while). This is one of those plants you either love of hate, you either htink the leaves are way cool or ugly. I happen to like it myself.
