Favorite winter veggies for subtropic or coastal area?
What veggie seeds or plants will you (or would like to) plant at the end of summer or early fall? I've got a few favorites like cauliflower and hardy beans, but what are yours?

Just getting ready to plant blue lake pole beans around the corn stalks and will clear out some spent tomato plants for some beets and radishes. In place of the potatoes that were in barrels cut in half length wise will be spinach and lettuce.
I love brocolli but get creeped out by those teeny weeny worms that lodge inside and float to the top when boiled which means that I never, ever eat my own broccolli raw. I'm going to start a couple tomato plants to have in the house during the winter. |

I haven't gave much thought to my winter garden yet. Maybe some greens- such as Mustard, Collards, Lettuce and such. Tommorow I'm planting cucumbers and scallions. I'll run a drip irrigation line for them because I didn't have much luck earlier on this year.
Richard, I've about given up on my Bell Peppers this year. They lost all of their large leaves and now they just have small ones. No fruit production. Someone suggested a virus, others mites or nematodes. Now I don't know. Any suggestions? I've had been spraying Neem and then I switched to Insecticidal Soap. |
