End of August Update
Again, my yard had a late start being planted in late June and then expirinced 100+ degree temps for quite a few days. Rain ahsn't been plentiful and city water just doesn't cut it. Pics taken on August 31, 2012:
Musa yunnanensis ![]() Colocasia Thailand Giant ![]() Musa velutina ![]() Musa 'Red Tiger' ![]() Mexican Petunia ![]() Canna musafolia(Canna Banana) ![]() Eneste maurelli that was at Lowe's clearance with three yellow leaves. Already looks great! ![]() Colocasia esculenta 'Mammoth' not looking very mammoth. ![]() Colocasia esculenta going around the tree. There are other colocasia's behind these to fill in next spring. ![]() Whole area under the tree filled with Colocasia's, Banana's Windmill Palms, Castor Beans, and Caladiums. ![]() Area by one of the gates from the driveway. Just noticed the Kroger bag that apparently blew into the bed. There is Society Garlic, Mexican Petunia, Canna, and Musa velutina. ![]() Musa velutina is pupping like crazy. ![]() Area under tree and behind the Colocasia's. ![]() Giant Castor Bean ![]() |

The Colocasia Thailand Giant grows best in about 4 hours of sun a day. The east or west side of a building is a good choice. All those plants need to be watered regularly.

I do water regularly and the Thailand Giant is on the east side of the house.
