![]() For the few friends I have here that are interested in how things are growing for me this year in SE TN, I decided to post this... Everything was about 4-6 weeks late coming up after our horrible winter (240+ hours of continual sub freezing cold spell). Well, things are still a bit behind from previous years, but I am hoping to a great end of the season... Anyway, I went outside today and snapped some pictures and thought I would share. Brian, I AM adding a link to pics so you won't have to comment about not having pictures to prove anything!!! LOL Anyway, hope everyone enjoys...
Here's one to get ya started... ![]() Login | Facebook IF you don't have a Facebook account, I apologize, but there are too many pics to post.... Last edited by Randy4ut : 07-09-2010 at 08:30 PM. |

![]() Very nice Randy, Everything I had outside did not make it this year here in Nashville, even the Basjoo's. I'm hoping in about a year my pool looks as good as yours.

![]() I have been doing some reading today about them and think I am simply going to have to give one a go maybe next year. Even though I do not and will not have a pond, I believe from what I have read, I can be pretty successful with a half whiskey barrel, or something along those lines. Yours is beautiful and actually I would be happy with just the foliage, but the flower is definitely a bonus. Thanks for sharing the pic!!!

![]() Very nice pics! Everything is growing very fast. I think in a way we all look forward to the end of the season to see the final result, but then a frost comes and most of it browns to the ground or is taken in (at least the cold tolerant palms stay green!).
Very nice yard. Thanks for sharing it!!

![]() Hello, Randy,
I truly enjoyed watching the 2010 photo slide shows of yours; it is as if I were there seeing your garden come alive in front of my eyes. I've never seen anyone grow so many different variety of colocasias (I believe this is the scientific name for elephant ear.) The best looking one, to me, is the colocasia blue hawaii. The purple veins are so gorgeous. I also like how you grow purple hearts around the elephant ears; the contrast of green and purple is very pretty. I sent you a pm message to let you know that if I do see any Brugmansia 'Versicolor' grown in Georgia, I'll try to collect some seeds for you. I'm truly sorry that you lost your Brugmansia 'Versicolor' this year. Knowing that you are an excellent gardener and an amiable person, I can surely understand that you are eager to grow another one. There were issues for me as well when I first try to watch your photo slide shows a month or two ago. I'm glad I finally get to see some of them, mostly the 2010 ones. Please let us know how your plants do for the rest of the year and thank you for sharing them with us. Rae from Georgia ![]()

![]() Rae, thank you for the message and I appreciate you keeping your eye out for the 'versicolor'!!! I, too, believe the 'Blue Hawaii" is my favorite this year. At least this week it is!!! LOL Anyway, I have taken a few more pics of the side yard plants and thought I would link to my photobucket account pics so I don't take up too much room on this reply. I will post this!!!! :
