Default coconuts

The coconuts had started falling and the leaves were looking tatty - so the gardeners trimmed them. They must be feeling their age because for the first time they brought ladders instead of climbing the trees. Each nut weighs around 10lbs on the good trees, so they get a good 3 wheelbarrows worth of good nuts from our 3 trees - there is always one tree that is a poor producer each year. We keep a few nuts for the coconut water and the dogs love to gnaw the flesh from the shell, but the gardeners get the rest of the nuts.

Thanks mskitty - the house in the picture belongs to my neighbour Nadia - mine is only one storey and was behind me. I was keeping clear of the action as both the leaves and nuts are very heavy - not to mention all the dust, wasps etc that come raining down. I sent the other half in the blue shirt out to supervise! But the trees are very graceful and I never get tired of watching them sway in the breeze.

I would imagine...the leaves look twice as 'tall' as the 2 people!
I "" tall because leaves aren't really tall but then people aren't really long...
