![]() Thanks, Migael! I really love it too. Something about that yellow in the center with the pink, just drives me...bananas! Of course I've been snapping shots like crazy and this one shows the 2 pups...
![]() Gonna share them with a pal. Beth tells me if I leave the flower stalk intact even after it's spent, the plant may send up a few more suckers yet! What a cool type this is. ![]() Any ideas on which exact variety it is? Someone was asking me on another site... Also, do canna's produce seeds? : ) |

![]() Wow, thanks for that great list, JB! So many of them look similar. I'll have to look through more thoroughly when I have time.
Here's my Canna this morning. Three blooms are now open. Here's the newest one... ![]() : ) |

![]() Thanks, Greg!
Found out some interesting information... I called the 24-nursery where I got the Canna from and spoke directly to the lady in charge of the plants. She confirmed that it is definitely a dwarf Canna (as if we didn't know ![]() She said they got them from a gentleman that grows them here in London and that he didn't know which exact kind they were, except that they were a dwarf grown from seed. Also said that it isn't a perennial to this area and will require indoor protection. I do think it very much resembles a "tropical salmon" but who knows for sure. : ) |

![]() I noticed today that the second pup has sent up a flower stalk...
![]() Over the weekend I picked up another dwarf canna at a different greenhouse. Unlike my other one though it had a label, and it's a "tropical rose". Makes me think all the more that my other one is called "tropical salmon". My new one has been transplanted into my garden and also has 2 pups. I'll show shots when it blooms in a week... : ) |

![]() The one I just bought was labelled as a "tropical rose" but the bud is different than the 1st unlabelled one I purchased. I believe it's a 'tropical salmon', but who knows for sure because there seems to be hundreds of varieties.
![]() Anyway, thanks for all the help and comments you guys. I sure like Canna plants a lot. : ) |

![]() Does anyone know if these are seed pods? The flowers wilted and dropped and then these green pods began to grow...

![]() Those are canna seed pods. They will kind of dry up when they are ripe and there will be black, round seeds in them (usually of a pretty large size). I have never gotten any canna seeds to sprout, but some cultivators sprout better than others (many dont even have viable seeds!)
