Default Can anyone explain this?

I had about 20 sago cycad seeds that I planted about two years ago. Since then, one germinated and is growing nicely. However the rest of the seeds have swelled up and keep getting bigger but there is no root coming out of them. The insides of them have broken through the shells and they are currently the size and texture of an avocado seed. I am not sure if I should just throw them away. Any suggestions?

How long has it been since they popped? If they haven't sent a radicle out after a few weeks, then I would think they aren't going to ever. I've germinated a lot of cycad seeds, and sometimes the radicle can take over a week before it emerges after the shell cracks. If no radicle emerges within 2 weeks from the time the shell cracks, then it usually just rots.

Actually, they have cracked the shell over a year ago! And only one of them sent out the radicle. I figured that the rest should have rotted since its been so long, but they are still very firm and huge!
