Mitchell. Very nice!!! Be careful, last time a critter stole my pineapple. I think it was a possum as they left the chewed up half way eaten fruit under the banana plants.

Jarred. Great Ananas collection you have going!! Do you sell/trade any of those red leaves and variegated leaves pineapples? Thanks.

Richard, hopefully one day I'll be able to trade the variegated ones, but for now, not enough! And they grow so slllowww!
But I can definately hook you up with the red kind, the Ananas lucidus. If you can find Ananas mongo, that's a great one, too, but again, I have so very little of them at the moment. Anywhoo, shoot me a PM so we can iron it out on the Lucidus. Mine are in full sun and are really brightly colored, they are nice!

It's ripe when it turns yellow, at least half way minimum! When it's ripe it does have a sweet smell.

Woohoo! Thanks Jared. I'm really looking forward to the plant. I'll get my part out this weekend.
The sweet smell was probably what attracted the possum to my fruit. =) so be careful. Although mine was tiny fruitlet (pot grown) compared to Mitchell. I had just recently planted out about 20 pineapples that were in pots.
