Attention Fern Experts
Can anyone help me identify this fern? My buddy found it growing near an abandoned pool on the edge of town. It apparently used to be a city pool but was in a flood plain so it was left to waste. He stumbled on to it and said there were ferns everywhere. There are no native ferns in this area that I know of. I would guess its an old variety that was planted at the pool 40-5- years ago so you can rule out hybrids. So if anyone can help or get me in touch someone who is a fern expert it would be greatly appreciated!:nanadrink:

Re: Attention Fern Experts
Natedogg, it looks like a southern bladder fern also called lowlands brittle fern. Not sure maybe you can look these up on the web and compare it to the fern you have. There are just so many ferns, and so many of them look so much alike. Hope this helps..........Cathy
