I discovered some aroids coming out of dormancy in the dark cool basement.
And put them under some lights (cfls 900watts) rather than waste the growth. Two containers, Arisaema Urashima(foreground) and Arisaema Ringens. Metal Wardian case to the left. . ![]() Aroids under lights by Hostafarian, on Flickr |

Late in the season konjacs will bust the containers because of the weight the bulb puts on over the grow season.
Last year they split a few a few decent terra cotta pots so this season I put them in black landscape containers and then in a pot... These plants put on some great bulb weight. ![]() A.konjac splitting the pot by Hostafarian, on Flickr |

I had a few late spring hard freezes which has made these plants about a month behind regular growth.
The corms have broken dormancy and just starting to grow. The weather affected basjoos also. ![]() Three amorph konjac Musa velutina and a white musa tanee by Hostafarian, on Flickr Last edited by cincinnana : 06-15-2022 at 05:46 AM. |
