Re: alocasia
Looks like plain green Alocasia macrorhizza, or "upright alocasia".

Re: alocasia
This is the variegated form of the same plant

Re: alocasia
PLAIN?
I love this plant. Thank you for answering. BTW love the var. form also. |
Re: alocasia
LOL Mudcat I meant no disrespect...only said "plain green" to differentiate it from the other alocasia macrorhizza's and other large growers that look like macros...lutea, black stem, New Guinea Gold, Borneo Giant, Metallica, albo-variagata etc etc. Yours are very nice. You should also try some Xanthosomas and colocasias if you like aroids, and philodendrons and anthuriums. Philos and anthuriums can be more readily kept as houseplants in winter in cooler climes than alocasias and colocasias can. Alocasias will sometimes go dormant in the house due to low light levels, even if they are kept above the requisite 55F. A common misconception is that alocasias like low light levels...false. They like a whole lotta light.

Re: alocasia
Lilith I really did understand I was hoping my humor came through in words. Hard to relay through words. That was my guess but was wondering if it was maybe the borneo or other. I knew someone out there would be able tell the difference. Thanks again.
